Built a 6-leg tennis accumulator on MyStake last Tuesday covering matches through the ATP Vienna quarterfinals. Had their accumulator insurance which covers one losing leg up to £100 stake return.

Problem is their insurance expires at exactly 7 days from placement, not when the accumulator settles. My last match (Rublev vs Dimitrov) was scheduled for day 8 due to rain delays pushing the quarters back. Insurance voided automatically at 168 hours despite the accumulator still running.

Lost £85 when Rublev retired at 4-2 in the first set. Would've been covered if the match played on schedule. Their terms mention the 7-day limit but buried it in paragraph 12 of the bonus conditions.

Anyone else caught out by this timing issue? Seems harsh when tournament delays are completely out of your control.

That's exactly why I avoid accumulator insurance altogether. It's marketing fluff with more holes than a practice court net. The 7-day cutoff isn't an oversight — it's designed to catch punters who don't read the small print properly.

I stick to single match bets precisely because of issues like this. Accumulator insurance sounds attractive but the conditions are always stacked against you. The timing restrictions, minimum odds requirements, and coverage limits make it barely worth having.

For Vienna I just backed Sinner at 1.85 to win his quarter and collected £140 profit without any insurance complications. Sometimes the safer approach pays better than chasing the big accumulator scores with all their attached conditions.

Actually disagree with the criticism here. MyStake's 7-day window is clearly stated and pretty standard across the industry. You can't expect operators to carry insurance liability indefinitely when tournaments drag on for weeks due to weather.

I've used MyStake for tennis accumulators throughout the clay season and their insurance saved me twice — once when Tsitsipas retired against Musetti in Rome, and again when Rune pulled out mid-match in Madrid. The key is building your accumulator to finish within their timeframe, not hoping they'll extend coverage for delayed matches.

This timing issue becomes particularly problematic during the grass court season when rain delays are almost guaranteed. I learned this lesson the hard way during Wimbledon 2023 when my 5-leg accumulator stretched into the second Monday due to weather disruptions.

The solution I've found is splitting longer accumulators into smaller chunks that can realistically complete within the insurance window. Instead of one 6-leg covering an entire week, I'll do two 3-leg accumulators covering 3-4 days each. The potential returns are lower but the insurance actually functions as intended.

For what it's worth, I've had better experiences with Tenobet for tennis accumulators. Their insurance runs for 10 days and they've been more flexible when tournaments face significant weather delays. Used them for the recent Vienna tournament and had no issues with the delayed quarterfinals.

Wait, so accumulator insurance doesn't cover you if matches get postponed beyond a week? That seems really unfair, especially for tournaments that always have weather delays. How are we supposed to predict when rain will mess up the schedule?

Is there any way to extend the insurance period or do you just have to hope your matches finish on time?

No extensions available mate. Insurance window is fixed at placement. Best strategy is checking weather forecasts and tournament schedules before building longer accumulators. Vienna's always dicey for delays due to indoor/outdoor court switching.

Vienna's indoor/outdoor switching is nothing compared to the Miami wind delays that can push matches 3-4 days past schedule. The real issue is MyStake's 7-day cutoff doesn't account for ATP 1000 events that regularly run into Monday qualifiers due to weather.

Here's the brutal math: if you place a 6-leg accumulator on Wednesday covering Thursday through Sunday matches, and Friday's outdoor courts get rained out until Monday, your insurance expires Sunday at midnight. Your accumulator is still live but unprotected. Lost £340 this way during Indian Wells when Alcaraz-Sinner got pushed to Tuesday due to wind delays.

The weather forecast strategy only works for tournaments with backup indoor facilities. Most clay and grass events are sitting ducks when Mother Nature decides to intervene.
