my memory of Vitas

I was born in 1969 but I grew up watching Vitas and his contemporaries playing the game. I loved to watch Vitas play in Channel 7's (Australia) Summer of Tennis. He was a great player and he was part of my childhood. I'll always remember the way he avoided stepping on the lines when returned to or from the chair between games - I can remember asking my Grandmother why he did this and he she said he was superstitious. RIP Vitas. |
